Canadian universities, institutes, and internationally renowned think tanks support innovative and collaborative research, and are typically situated in vibrant multicultural cities, in proximity to Canada’s diverse natural landscapes – making for an extraordinary professional and cultural experience. All proposals will be evaluated not only for their scholarly, artistic, or professional excellence, but also for their potential to increase mutual understanding between the United States and Canada (Review Criteria). After all, while Canada and the United States share a continent, deeply held core values, and countless points of collaboration, the two countries have distinct historical, cultural, and political realities.
The Fulbright Canada Research Chairs Program is comprised of several thematic awards, with each containing multiple grants, offered at various host institutions across Canada. The host institutions have identified key specializations for the individual chair opportunities. Since multiple grants (at various host institutions) are available within each theme, applicants are requested to identify host institutions in order of preference within both the project statement and the application form. This way, applicants are considered for multiple grants, enhancing their chance of success.
