Grant Activity

A combination of teaching and research at a Danish mid-level (comparable to U.S. community colleges) or university-level institution.

All applications must include a teaching component, which can include a seminar, lecture or workshop series. The division between teaching and research does not have to be a 50/50 split, but all applications must clearly outline both teaching and research activities.

Fulbright Denmark is responsible for the Fulbright program in Denmark. Both the Danish and U.S. governments financially support this program.

Grants must begin at semester start around either September 2021 or February 2022. Summer semester not included.

While this award is open to any project in the disciplines listed above, there is interest in scholars who are in these particular specialty areas.

Fulbright Denmark has defined sustainability and the arctic, life sciences, and space as areas of special focus. American/Scandinavian studies also remain a special focus area.  

Special Features

Pending availability of funds, there is a grant of DKK 50,000/USD approx. 7,400 (currency rate used: 1 USD = 6,74 DKK) available for dependents provided that they obtain a residence permit and stay in Denmark for the entire period.

No separate housing allowance is provided. Please see the individual award descriptions for housing arrangements.
