Grant Activity

Conduct research in any discipline. Scholars may have the opportunity to give lectures at their host institution and other institutions as a guest speaker to share their experiences in their field. They may also have the chance to lead and participate in workshops, seminars and other collaborative activities.

Grant Length
4.5 to 9 months
Grant Dates

One-semester grants must begin in September 2021 or February 2022; two-semester grants must begin in September 2021.



Grantees can conduct their research projects at public or foundation universities, research centers, organizations or at any other relevant institutions. Their institutional affiliations will be determined by the Turkish Fulbright Commission.

Special Features

The Turkish Fulbright Commission provides help and guidance to the grantees in finding housing. Grantees arrange their own housing and can always contact the American Programs Officer at the Turkish Fulbright Commission for advice. 

If housing is not provided by the host institution, grantee will receive an allowance of up to $560/month. However, grantees based in İstanbul will receive an allowance of up to $585/month. 

Please note that the actual amount will vary according to the grantee’s rental agreement.
