Grant Activity

Teach courses and seminars at undergraduate and graduate level, assist with curriculum development, offer seminar or workshop and/or conduct research and other activities, as requested.

Three to ten months
Grant Dates

Awards are offered for 3 to 10 months for research projects and for 4 to 10 months (a semester or an academic year) for teaching and teaching/research projects.

Note on research activities: October marks the beginning of the academic year. Research activities are typically expected to start in September or October. In well justified cases they can begin a few weeks earlier.

Note on teaching activities: October marks the beginning of the academic year, so teaching activities for the fall semester are typically expected to start in October. The spring semester typically lasts from February to June, however it may be possible to agree with the host institution on dates from mid-February to mid-June comprising a 4-month period.


Any appropriate institution at a higher education institution, research institute, Polish Academy of Science unit, international scientific institute or other scientific unit based in Poland.

Flex Option
Flex Description

Candidates may apply for a Flex award which allows for two to five visits to Poland over the course of the given academic year and the total length of the grant is a minimum of three months.  For Flex awards the Commission covers the cost of one return flight ticket; financial support from the host institution is needed to cover the remaining travel costs.

Candidates who choose to apply for a Flex award should secure a letter of invitation which outlines each leg of the visit as well as the host institution’s assurance of covering the travel costs for legs two through five. Additionally, in the project statement, candidates should briefly elaborate on the grant activities that will take place during each leg of the project (including a proposed time frame for each visit).
