Grant Activity

Teaching and Teaching/Research Grants: Fulbright Scholars will be expected to teach or teach/conduct research in area of specialization. Teaching will preferably be at the graduate level.

Other activity: Participate in ongoing activities of the host department. Consult on curriculum, program, and faculty development. Conduct seminars and workshops.

Research Grants: Fulbright Scholars will be expected to conduct research in area of specialization and give occasional lectures or seminars.

Three months
Grant Dates

Grants may begin any time after September 1, 2021 and should be completed by June 30, 2022. Grant dates to be arranged with host institution. Possible exceptions should be agreed with the host institution, as well.


Italian universities, research centers, or any other appropriate Italian institution.

Affiliation with a university in the South of Italy is encouraged. Grantees will be required to live in the city where the host institution is located.

While this award is open to any project in the disciplines listed above, there is interest in scholars who are in these particular specialty areas.

Applications in all specializations will be considered, with a preference for projects on contemporary topics.
