Grant Activity

For Teaching/Research activities, there should be a 60/40 ratio of teaching to research. Teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level should represent 60% of the scholar’s activities, the rest of the workload may be devoted to conducting independent or collaborative research, participating in conferences and seminars, carrying out fieldwork, advising students or faculty members, among other activities such as advising on university curriculum, and/or offering other host institution support as requested. For Teaching-only grants, Scholars should teach two courses or one course plus workshops, in conjuction with the needs of the host institution.

This award seeks to strengthen academic networks between U.S. scholars and their counterparts in Peru by funding proposals that are relevant to the Peruvian context. Peru is a growing economy in Latin America, re-imagining the country it wants to be as it moves toward its 2021 bicentennial. Our need for new ways of approaching knowledge makes academic exchange a valuable tool for finding innovative perspectives. Scholars may also propose comparative research on Peru-U.S. related studies.
