Grant Activity

The grant supports independent or collaborative research at Brazilian universities, research institutes and, in special cases, NGOs. The strategic goal of the U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program in Brazil is to support the internationalization process of the Brazilian higher education system.  In this way, it is expected that scholars work not only on their individual research projects, but also develop activities that foster the mobility of students and peers, and other collaborative initiatives. Candidates with no or little academic experience in Brazil are encouraged to apply.

Grants must be completed between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022.

Locations

Projects are encouraged in all parts of Brazil, specifically beyond the urban areas of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Flex Description

Flex grants, which allow the grant to be split into two two-month in-country visits between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022, will be considered. There must be a period of no less than two months between the two in-country stays.
