Award Activity

A) Teaching undergraduate-level courses (up to 40% of grant activity):

Teach one or two courses already established at Universidad de Málaga (UMA) worth 6 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System units, which is equivalent to a full course, or about 48 hours of teaching classes) towards a Bachelor’s degree. The Lecturer can choose to teach parts of courses within one of UMA's Departments.

B) Teaching graduate-level courses (up to 40% of grant activity):

The Lecturer will have the opportunity to deliver guest lectures for courses pertaining to the Master’s degrees in his/her area of expertise and/or seminars for Ph.D. students.

Mandatory teaching in both undergraduate and graduate courses will not exceed 60 hours.

C) Research (60% of grant activity)

The Lecturer will be invited to present his/her research in seminars and to attend research seminars led by UMA professors. There will be ample opportunity for research collaboration.

 

Scholars selected for this award will be required to:
  • Advise and/or mentor students
  • Assist in faculty, curriculum, and/or program development
  • Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses designated by the host institution

UMA sponsors this award and, in addition to financial benefits, offers logistical assistance in finding housing and school(s) for dependent children, if necessary. A contact will be available to help the scholar adapt to the university.

The scholar will be granted access to all digital resources available at UMA.
