Please note that, although the online information about the courses on the host institution website is partially in Spanish, most faculty in the School of Veterinary Medicine speak English, and the scholar will only be expected to teach in English. Detailed information about his/her tasks will be provided to candidates in a timely manner and in English after being selected.

A) Teaching at the postgraduate level:

Teach at the postgraduate level within the M.S. program in “Biology and Technology of Reproduction in Mammals” and the Ph.D. program in “Biology and Technology of Reproductive Health.” The visiting scholar will teach courses according to his/her experience, with a maximum of 20 students in each course. Teaching includes theory and practical lessons.

He/she is expected to:

  1. Teach any of the following subjects in the M.S. program (focusing on topics of his/her expertise and choice): Morphology and function of the male reproductive system, morphology and function of the female reproductive system, gametes-oviduct interactions previous to fertilization, fertilization, embryo development and pregnancy, sperm function analysis, In vitro maturation, fertilization and embryo culture, assisted reproduction in humans, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos, ethic and legal aspects of the life beginning and the assisted reproduction techniques in humans, epigenetics in reproductive biology, transgenesis, gene therapy, cloning and stem cells, reproductive biotechnologies and recovery of endangered species, cell and molecular biology techniques applied to biology of reproduction, ultrasound applications in reproductive biology and epidemiology of reproductive health.
  2. Assist students with seminars, journal clubs, roundtables, etc., on topics related to reproductive biology.
  3. 3. Participate in research projects in the field of reproduction. Complete degree contents, both in English and Spanish, can be found at: 

B) Research:

The Lecturer will be invited to present his/her research in seminars and to attend research seminars led by the School of Veterinary and Medicine professors. The Lecturer will have opportunities to collaborate with School of Veterinary and Medicine research groups.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars may be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary research or teaching activities.
