Please note that, although much of the online information on the host institution website is in Spanish, most faculty in the School of Medical Sciences speak English, and the scholar will only be expected to teach in English. Detailed information about his/her tasks will be provided to candidates in a timely manner and in English after being selected.

A) Teaching Pharmacy or Biotechnology courses at the undergraduate level:

150 in-classroom teaching hours at the Bachelor’s degree programs in Pharmacy, Biotechnology or Dentistry (microbiology/biostatistics). Around 40 students in the classroom. The visiting professor will be expected to teach at least in two of the following subjects:

  • Genetic Engineering
  • Microbiology
  • Epidemiology and Biostatistics
  • Virology
  • Bioreactors
  • Biotechnological processes and products
  • Bioinformatics
  • Pharmacology
  • Pharmaceutical technology
  • Nutrition

Detailed Syllabi for each course of interest can be obtained from daniel.hormigo@universidadeuropea.es. Specific teaching assignments will be agreed upon once the candidate has been selected.

B) Research:

The visiting professor will be welcome to join any of the University's research groups. Experience in enzymatic biotechnology, bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics, as well as in protein engineering will be valued.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
