Award Activity

A flexible combination of teaching and research activities that entails at least two courses (classes meet once a week for 90 minutes) and may include advising or supervising advanced students. Format, content, and level of the individual courses are negotiated with the University of Klagenfurt (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt). Joint research with the host department is welcomed and appreciated.

Scholars selected for this award will be required to:
  • Advise and/or mentor students
  • Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses designated by the host institution

Award Dates

Grants must begin in late September 2022 or late February 2023 in line with the Austrian academic year and in order to attend the mandatory orientation. Teaching and research at the host institution will begin on October 1, 2022 or March 1, 2023.

Interdisciplinary Research on the Digital Age

The University of Klagenfurt is interested in scholars who seek to contribute to the university-wide research field “Humans in the Digital Age” while being associated with its Digital Age Research Center (D!ARC). The center’s objective is to shed light on the technological and the cultural, economic, legal, social, etc. aspects of the digital revolution. For this reason, scholars with experience and interest in interdisciplinary research are particularly welcome. The university solicits applications with specialization in one or more of the following research areas (in alphabetical order):
