Grant Activity

The recipient of the grant will be expected to teach the course “Free Seminars” to the LL.M. in European and Transglobal Business Law, giving a United States' Law perspective. An average of 15 students is enrolled in this course every year. This course aims to offer students the possibility of having a state-of-the-art view of several subjects on private law and public law, such as Contract Law, Torts Law, Conflicts of Law and Jurisdiction, Law and New Technologies, Consumer Law, WTO Law, US Tax Law, International Law, Banking Law, Legal Theory, Fashion Law, Food Law, Maritime Law, Criminal Law, Real State Law, Water Law, Environmental Law. The course can be tailor-made according to the recipient research interests.

Furthermore, the candidate is to engage in the research activities of the Research Centre for Justice and Governance (JusGov). JusGov is dedicated to advancing research and scholarship in law by pursuing an innovative research programme and by delivering high quality training for both master and doctoral students. As part of its mission, Jusgov seeks to explore the role of Law in meeting contemporary societal challenges such as those identified by UN2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; Juscov is focused in particular on the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies, the achievement of gender equality, the provision of access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

The grant recipient should be able to organize and teach two thematic workshops (10 hour each) under the Jusgov’s research scope, aimed at early stage researchers.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
