Grant Activity

Grant activity includes the development of "Music Performance" (from Conducting to Voice or Instrument), "Composition" and "Jazz and Music Technologies" course syllabi, and may also include teaching classes, depending on the selected profile.

The teaching and research activity is designed for students from these Music areas and courses can be taught as seminar, can be individual (in the case of the composition) or in a class (in the case of analysis).

All grant activity will take place at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon's School of Music (ESML-IPL).

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.

Special Features

The host will contribute with €750/month for housing expenses and will provide assistance in finding housing. The host institution will provide computer facilities, internet access and e-mail, office space and secretarial assistance.
