Award Activity

The Scholar is welcome to conduct a research project of their own choosing. Alternatively, the Scholar may take part in the Renyi Institute’s research activities: typical research projects involve combinatorics, combinatorial optimization, number theory, mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence and network theory, algebraic geometry or topology, to mention a few. The scholar will give a (series of) colloquium lecture(s) for the students of the Budapest Semesters of Mathematics and will meet and advise students regularly. They will help contribute to student understanding of the nature and role of research mathematics and the processes by which one trains to become a research mathematician.

 

Scholars selected for this award will be required to:
  • Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing

Quantifiable (tangible) outcomes can include publications (books, journal articles, scripts, etc.), conference presentations, artistic and musical compositions, exhibitions, performances, films, and patents.
