Fulbright Canada and Carleton University have established dedicated research chairs in support of educational programming, teaching and research. This opportunity will allow extraordinary American scholars and top-tier applied researchers to spend one academic year as a visiting research scholar working in a targeted area of academic inquiry. Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chair in Arts and Social Sciences in Canada and North America
Specialization: Interface between humans and technology; disciplines such as cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, geography, digital humanities.

Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurship
Specialization: Entrepreneurial strategies, start-ups, marketing, private-public partnerships, technology, economic and social entrepreneurship, enhancing institutional frameworks.

Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chair in Environmental Science
Specialization: Conservation science; Environmental decisions; Evidence-based environmental management; Water; Environmental contamination; Ecology; Biodiversity; Stewardship; Environmental health; Restoration; Resource development; Sustainability.

Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chair in Public Affairs in North America: Society, Policy, Media
Specialization: Political Economy; Privacy; Ethics; Surveillance; Algorithms; Intellectual Property; Net Neutrality; Artificial Intelligence; Big Data; Health Policy; Smart Cities; Competition Policy.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
