Award Activity

Fulbright Scholars will be expected to teach (primary activity, at least 60%) and conduct research (secondary activity).

Scholars selected for this award will be required to:
  • Advise and/or mentor students
  • Assist in faculty, curriculum, and/or program development
  • Conduct a research project designated by the host institution
  • Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses designated by the host institution
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses of the applicant’s choosing
Award Length
Five to six months
Award Dates

Grants may begin any time after September 1, 2022 and should be completed by June 30, 2023. Grant dates are to be arranged with host institution and indicated in the letter of invitation. However, they may be changed at a later time depending on circumstances, and finalized after selection. Possible exceptions should be agreed with the host institution.

Locations

One of the 23 universities located in the six regions of southern Italy: Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sardegna, Basilicata, or Sicilia. The aim of this award is to promote a better knowledge of the South of Italy and to promote knowledge exchange and research in South-related issues at universities in the South of Italy.
