This is a unique oportunity for a Fulbright research fellowship at the University of Haifa, one of Israel’s leading research universities and among the world leaders in many fields. Grants are open to researchers in all academic disciplines for up to 20 months (two academic years).

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.

Grants may begin any time in the period of August 2020 - April 2021 as agreed upon with host institution.

Grant activity will take place at the University of Haifa. 

Established in 1972, the University of Haifa is an academic institution whose initial and central function is to carry out excellent academic teaching and research. The academic excellence is showcased in many various interdisciplinary and international programs and by means of collaborations with academic institutions around the world.

Special Features

During their grant period, Fulbright U.S. Scholars in Israel may apply for a short-term regional travel grant (five to 14 days) for participation in a variety of activities including faculty and student lectures, graduate or faculty seminars, curriculum development, public lectures, panel presentations, needs assessment, conferences, or some combination thereof.
