Grant Activity

The grantee will spend up to nine months at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, focusing on developing professional skills such as teaching, academic writing and publishing, and job market presentation within the field of EU studies. (S)he will have close contact with the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, which is devoted to interdisciplinary, comparative, and policy research on the major issues on the European integration process, and the Max Weber Programme (MWP), currently the largest international postdoctoral training programme in the social sciences.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
