Special Features

The award is for rent-free accommodation and an allowance of £2,000 (about $2,618 as of January 2020) for the duration of the grant period.

SOAS University of London will provide rent-free accommodation -- a two-bedroom flat suitable for a couple only -- in central London, plus the additional single grant of £2000 for the three months. The scholar will have access to the School’s library, which acts as the UK National Research Library for studies in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Grants must begin in January 2022 and must be held for a consecutive three-month period and grantees will be expected to reside in Gordon Square for the duration of the fellowship during one of these periods. They will be expected to play a full part in the life of the School.
