Award Details
Grant Activity

The Fulbright-TUAS Scholar Award enables U.S. scholars to undertake teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s levels at the Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS).

The grantee will undertake teaching mostly at the master’s level at TUAS. In addition, the grantee will participate both in the implementation of ongoing research, development and innovation (RDI) projects and in planning new project initiatives together with TUAS faculty members.  More information can be found at: http://www.tuas.fi/en/research-and-development/rdi-co-operation-tuas

Master’s programs at TUAS are built on multiform studies including problem-based learning processes, lectures and seminars, e-learning and independent work, and are conducted in close cooperation with business life. Master’s students must have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience prior to their studies. Their contact sessions are held usually on two full workdays approximately once a month. Due to this, in addition to teaching, the grantee will also familiarize him/herself with TUAS RDI projects and participate in activities of the research group(s) in his/her field. TUAS focuses on applied RDI that is closely connected to the development needs of the industry and other organizations. A successful RDI project responds to the needs of individuals and communities.

The grant will be awarded for the field of business administration or engineering and technology (see below). The detailed focus of the grant will be defined together with the grantee based on his/her expertise.

The Fulbright-TUAS Scholar Award is jointly funded by the Turku University of Applied Sciences and the Fulbright Finland Foundation (the Finnish Fulbright Commission).
