Grant Activity

A flexible combination of teaching and research activities 

The Fulbright - University of Salzburg Visiting Professor will engage in the following activities:

  • Teaching of two courses (classes meet once a week for 90 minutes) within the bachelor's and master's programs
  • Presentation and discussion of research findings with advanced students and faculty
  • Participation in joint workshops and seminars with neighboring universities
  • Participation in joint research projects at the host institution

Grant should begin on either October 1, 2021 or March 1, 2022.

While this award is open to any project in the disciplines listed above, there is interest in scholars who are in these particular specialty areas.

The Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences of the University of Salzburg is interested in interdisciplinary approaches and seeks applications from researchers in Central / East-Central European History with a specialization in the research field of Habsburg Studies. We especially encourage applications from researchers focusing on questions of national identity, ethnic and confessional minorities and multinational statehood. A focus on historical themes or topics that are of continuing relevance to contemporary society may be beneficial. The successful candidate will have a profile complementary to those of current faculty. More information about current faculty can be found here.
