Grant Activity

Lecture at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, prepare syllabi, share teaching techniques with social studies and social work professors, and consult to help improve courses on gender studies.

The scholar is expected to help students understand how gender structures affect social institutions;  enable students to possess a deep theoretical perspective on gender, as an integrated part of the current social policy system as a whole; and raise students' awareness of the role of social science professionals in achieving a society with equal opportunities. Main issues will include gender identity, gender roles, gender mainstreaming, gender policy and the future of gender equality.

Scholars selected for this grant will be required to attend a mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation in Summer 2020.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.

Faculty of Social and Political Studies, Tirana University

Tirana University is the oldest and biggest public higher education institution in Albania. The university’s leadership is working to improve the quality of basic applied and academic research, using contemporary teaching approaches.

All six faculties (schools): Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of History and Philology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Law School, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences offer undergraduate and graduate studies in their respective majors. All study programs are organized according to the Bologna System 3+2 (three years for undergraduate and two for the graduate program with 60 credits per academic year).

Enhancing the University’s international profile is a key institutional strategic goal to increase university linkages, student and faculty mobility, and to expand professional knowledge and cultural awareness.
