Hasselt University is an innovative and dynamic university with two campuses (in Diepenbeek and Hasselt) and six research institutes. It is located in the province of Limburg (in the Northeast of Belgium), near the Dutch and German border and with Brussels 90 km to the Southwest. The research policy of Hasselt Universtity is characterized by research in a number of spearhead fields, with a focus on multidisciplinarity (electronic materials, ICT, life sciences, clean tech, biostatistics, traffic safety and mobility, open innovation and small businesses). The quality of the university research not only benefits from the strong concentration of research assets, but also from the extensive research network and joint programs that Hasselt University developed with Belgian, European and international partners
