Award Activity

Collaborate with staff on the delivery of specialist lectures on health professions education, pedagogy and research to MSc course (average class size: 20) and/or medical education audience: 8-12 hours in total; Deliver faculty workshops in Scholar’s area of expertise in Health Profession/Medical Education, Simulation, Professionalism and Research. Collaborate with staff to discuss and develop research protocols.

Scholars selected for this award will be required to:
  • Assist in faculty, curriculum, and/or program development
  • Conduct a research project designated by the host institution
  • Conduct a research project of the applicant’s choosing
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses designated by the host institution
  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses of the applicant’s choosing

RCSI is a University of Medicine & Health Sciences - a single faculty institution focused on entry-level medical, pharmacy, physiotherapy and physician associate education, as well as postgraduate nursing, leadership and doctoral research degrees. Its research programmes are translational (bench to bedside to population). It is ranked joint second in the world (2021) in Times Higher UN SDG 3 (Good Health & Wellbeing). Founded in 1784 and based in Dublin, RCSI is now one of the world’s leading international medical schools. It has established campuses in Bahrain, Penang and Kuala Lumpur and new partnerships in Soochow, China. RCSI is also Ireland's national surgery training organisation and delivers postgraduate training and education through its Faculties of Radiology, Nursing & Midwifery, Dentistry, Sports & Exercise Medicine, the School of Postgraduate Studies, the Institute of Leadership and the National Surgical Training Centre. At the centre of this unique mix of disciplines and levels of education, RCSI's Health Professions Education Centre coordinates significant upskilling and scholarly activity across the health professional lifecycle and is pleased to partner with international scholars and educators to further this work.
