Award Activity

Conduct research in the area of specialization in universities and research centers in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region including the following cities: Bordeaux, Poitiers, La Rochelle, and Pau.

Award Length
Three to nine months
Award Dates

Grants may begin any time after September 2021.


Nouvelle-Aquitaine universities or research centers. List of suggested cities: Bordeaux, Poitiers, La Rochelle, and Pau. Grantees are expected to reside in the region of the award.

Areas of Interest

Nouvelle-Aquitaine welcomes candidates in all fields, preferably in the following areas in which the regional research teams are especially strong: Energy Efficiency, Storage and Usage;  Materials Performance and Advanced Processing; Lasers, Photonics and Optoelectronics; Neuroscience and Bioimagery; Immune Defense against Microbial Pathogens; Littoral, Biodiversity, Ecosystems Evolution, Biogeochemistry, and Aquatic Ecotoxicology; Archaeology; African Studies; Computer Network and Innovative Data Management; Chemistry for Health Sciences and Agro-Resources; Applied Mathematics and Modeling.

Application Deadline

Research includes activities involving scientific research, qualitative research, quantitative research, and practice-based research, including artistic research. Research can take place in locations such as the laboratory, the field, the archives, or an artist residency. It can be experimental, clinical, or applied. It can include examining policies, systems, theories, methods, interactions, and works of art and music, with the objective to evaluate or develop new knowledge or works. Quantifiable (tangible) outcomes can include publications (books, journal articles, scripts, etc.), conference presentations, artistic and musical compositions, exhibitions, performances, films, and patents.
