Fulbright Canada Research Chairs are targeted, specialized opportunities for scholars to be part of a host faculty.  The Fulbright Canada chair will conduct their own research, work collaboratively with new colleagues, engage with students, and become involved in the local community. Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Indigenist Resiliencies, McMaster University
Specializations: Indigenous-centred revitalizations of: gender and sexualities, environmental policy, youth and/or social movements, as well as language and culture.

Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Legal and Resource Rights, University of Alberta
Specializations: North American aboriginal law with a focus on aboriginal resource rights and governance and their relationship to national and provincial, state or territorial regulatory regimes

Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Native Peoples and Communities, University of Alberta
Specializations: Metis resources and law, Inuit and environmental change, Dene and diamonds and urban aboriginal residents.

Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Studies, Vancouver Island University
Specializations: Aboriginal education, reconciliation, indigenization, aboriginal engagement.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
Grant Length
Four months. Scholars can seek an unfunded extension for an additional eight months.
Grant Dates

Grants must begin in either September 2019 or January 2020.
