Fulbright Canada Research Chairs are targeted, specialized opportunities for scholars to be part of a host faculty.  The Fulbright Canada chair will conduct their own research, work collaboratively with new colleagues, engage with students, and become involved in the local community. Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Transnational Studies, Brock University
Specializations: Writing across borders; transnational cultures; languages, citizenship, and migration, including approaches to Indigenous populations and cultures; histories of the cross-border region; border studies; Canadian-American relations; and the image of Canada abroad.

Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Canada-U.S. Relations, Carleton University
Specializations: Canada-U.S. relations; U.S. foreign policy; intelligence and international affairs; security and defence policy; international institutions and global public policy; international development policy; and international economic policy.

Fulbright Canada Research Chair in North American Integration, Carleton University
Specializations: North American studies, with a focus on political, social or cultural dimensions of North American integration.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
Grant Length
Four months. Scholars can seek an unfunded extension for an additional eight months.
Grant Dates

Grants must begin in either September 2019 or January 2020.
