Grant Activity

Conduct research, teach for approximately 12 hours weekly or teach for approximately six hours weekly and conduct research. Conduct assessment of research and academic needs and conduct teacher training for faculty. Possibly participate in or lead seminars and workshops.

Grants may not begin before September 1, 2021 and must be completed no later than June 2022. Grant dates must comply with the host institution's academic calendar.

While this award is open to any project in the disciplines listed above, there is interest in scholars who are in these particular specialty areas.

Preferred science disciplines include, but are not limited to: renewable energy, computer science, artificial intelligence and information technology, biotechnology, engineering, public health, nursing, pharmacy, chemistry, biology, dental health, botany and agriculture, bioinformatics, physics, zoology, geology, environmental sciences and nutrition.

During their grant period, Fulbright U.S. Scholars in the Middle East and North Africa region may apply for a short-term regional travel grant (five to 14 days) for participation in a variety of activities including faculty and student lectures, graduate or faculty seminars, curriculum development, public lectures, panel presentations, needs assessment, conferences, or some combination thereof.
