Grant Activity

The Irish Museum of Modern Art has a large, important archive of material on contemporary Irish artists working here and abroad, as well as artists from other countries that have worked, or continue to work, in Ireland.  In order to more fully utilize this collection, IMMA is seeking an art historian trained in archival methodology and practices or a professional archivist with knowledge of modern and contemporary art. The selected individual will continue the development of the archive into an accessible, digitized repository of information. This person will also assist the Collections Department in research related to ongoing curatorial projects. Additional goals include: working on the development of indexing systems or other cross-referencing mechanisms between the various archives for modern and contemporary art in Ireland; the development of platforms for digital presentations of archival material; and strategic planning on conservation and the long-term growth of the archives.

In addition to being a prestigious academic exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to expand and strengthen relationships between the people of the United States and citizens of other nations and to promote international understanding and cooperation. To support this mission, Fulbright Scholars will be asked to give public talks, mentor students, and otherwise engage with the host community, in addition to their primary activities‎.
